Vegetation mapping

We have produced a 30m-resolution raster map of simple vegetation classes for western central Yellowstone National Park. The map was produced using Landsat ETM+ remote sensing technology, and delineates the following classes:

• Closed-canopy forest
• Open forest / partially burned forest
• Burned forest
• Meadow
• Water
